Kevin Abbott practices in the Firm’s core areas of medical malpractice defense and providing advice to our healthcare clients on a wide range of topics ranging from patient confidentiality to medical staff issues to policies and procedures. A native of neighboring McHenry, Illinois, Kevin joined our firm immediately upon his graduation from law school.
When Kevin joined our firm he already had a broad range of experience in healthcare law. He authored an article entitled Pediatric Faith Healing which was published in the American Medical Association Journal of Ethics in 2009. While a law student, he took advantage of the extern opportunities to found in the city of Chicago — spending a summer as an intern for the American Medical Association and their Counsel on Ethical and Judicial Affairs. He also held positions with two accomplished Chicago-based plaintiff’s medical malpractice law firms, which provided valuable experience and added greatly to his insights into now defending those cases on behalf of the Firm’s hospital and physician clients.
Kevin graduated Summa Cum Laude from DePaul University College of Law, ranking in the top 5% of his class. He was a member of the Law Review and admitted to the Order of the Coif. Kevin earned his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Illinois in 2007, majoring in Political Science with a Chemistry minor. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association.
